mPower series of programmes of C-DAC ACTS is powerful modular programme for the candidates aspiring for the career in ICT. mPower is targeted towards the students from varied background who aspire to make a successful career in the IT industry. The course aims to groom the students to enable them to work on current technology scenarios as well as prepare them to keep pace with the challenging face of technology and requirements of the ever growing IT industry. The course curriculum has been designed keeping in view the emerging trends in advanced computing as well as contemporary and futuristic human resource requirements of the ICT industry. The entire course syllabus, courseware, teaching methodology and the course delivery have been derived from the rich research and development background of CDAC. Course Structure

mPower Full Time Programmes are of 480 hours to be completed in 12 weeks (5 days a week, 8 hrs per day). There are up to 40 seats available per batch at every centre offering the mPower series of Full Time programmes.

Admission Process

Candidate need to register online by filling up the online application form on C-DAC, ACTS Pune website http://acts.cdac.in by visiting C-DAC centre.

Candidate needs to fill up the application form online only. No manual / printed application forms are available. In absence of internet facility, candidate can register and fill in the online application form by visiting the C-DAC centre where he is willing to take admission.

After filling in and submitting the online application form the Registration ID and password shall be generated and displayed on the registration page. The Registration ID shall be valid forever.

The registration ID and Password shall also be sent on the email ID mentioned by the candidate. Candidate may use this registration ID and password for filling in the application form for any other C-DAC programme in future.

Candidates filling in the online application form must submit the passport size colour photograph; the same will be scanned and uploaded by the centre. Photographs once uploaded will not be changed under any circumstances whatsoever.

Please note that the upload of photograph is mandatory as this photograph will be used on the Identity Card issued by the centre and finally on the Programme Certificate.

Please note that the candidate should register only once. Any deviation from this rule will disqualify you for admission to any of the centres unconditionally. Any fees paid by you will also be forfeited. No correspondence shall be made in this regard.

Selection Process

The Selection process leading to confirmed admission for the programme shall unfold as described below:

Online Local Entrance Test (OLET)

After registration and filling in the online application form, candidate need to pay Online Local Entrance Test (OLET) fees of Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) by cash to the centre at which the candidate is appearing for the OLET and book the OLET slot (Date / Time).

OLET for the admission process will be conducted at the centre three weeks before the commencement of the programme.

The OLET of one hour shall consist of online test of 60 questions. Each question shall carry one mark. There will be a negative marking i.e., quarter (0.25) mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Declaration of OLET result :

The result of the OLET will be displayed on the computer screen along with the OLET score of the candidates immediately after the completion of examination. A message clearly indicating whether the candidate has qualified for the admission will be displayed along with the OLET score.

Confirmed admission for this programme shall be given after successful clearance of OLET followed by technical / personal interview. Technical interview shall be based on computing background of individual courses, verification of eligibility, submission of relevant supportive documents, and payment of respective course fees by a DD drawn on any nationalized bank ONLY and in favor of “C-DAC, ACTS” payable at Pune. Course fees shall not be accepted in cash.

Candidates are required to give the details on the backside of the DD like Name of the Candidate, Registration ID, and the mPower programme applied for i.e. Name of the Programme, Month and Year of batch.

Evaluation Methodology :

The evaluation process forms an important part of the programme that leads to conferring upon the eligible students; the respective certificate for the programme.
The evaluation is a continuing process that goes on throughout the duration of the programme. The evaluation will consist of three components:

1.Theory Examination
2.Laboratory Examination
3.Project Evaluation

Internal Assessment (Lab Assignments, Surprise Tests, Viva, Seminars, attendance etc.) For theory test C-DAC, ACTS, Pune will conduct the course end objective type exam at the centre on intranet online mode.

The final result of the individual programme is usually declared within fifteen days of completion of the programme. The scores of module end lab examination, Theory examination and internal marks shall appear on the Mark Sheet.

The weightage for each component will normally be :

The question papers for the theory as well as the laboratory examinations at all the centres will be set by CDAC, ACTS Pune. The centres according to guidelines and model answers provided by C-DAC, ACTS Pune, will conduct the evaluation of the laboratory and assignments locally. The lab examination problems will also be provided by C-DAC, ACTS Pune.

The student will be awarded a grade based on his aggregate score of all modules according to the following scale :

A student who is absent for the lab exam or theory exam or unable to successfully clear the lab exam or theory exam at the first attempt shall be allowed to appear for a re-examination according to the schedule. However, his/her score at the re-examination will be de-rated by 20%. Only one re-examination will be conducted.

A student will have to successfully complete and clear both theory & lab exams for receiving the Programme Certificate. Students unable to complete or fail in a module(s), then only “Performance Statement” will be given. No student will be allowed to appear for any module/exam after completion of the course duration. Performance statements and certificates will be issued to all students by C-DAC, ACTS Pune within fifteen days of completing evaluation.

Qualification : Any Graduate

Computing background::Computing Fundamentals, Database Concepts.

Course Fees

The total fees for the Business Computing Programme is Rs. 33,500/- (Rupees Thirty Three Thousand Five Hundred only). Course fees to be paid by Demand Draft (DD) drawn on any nationalized bank only and to be drawn in favor of “C-DAC, ACTS” and payable at Pune. The entire course fees need to be paid before the date of commencement of the programme at the centre. Course fees shall not be accepted in cash.

The course fee is inclusive of the course material to be provided to the individual student.

Once the candidate paid the course fees at the centre, the course fees will not be refunded under any circumstances whatsoever.

Qualification:BE / MSc (Computer/ Electronics/ IT/E&TC)

Computing background::‘C’ Programming & Basic Electronics, OS Concepts.

The total fees for the Embedded Programming is Rs. 35,000/- (Rupees Thirty Five Thousand only). Course fees to be paid by Demand Draft (DD) drawn on any nationalized bank only and to be drawn in favor of “C-DAC, ACTS” and payable at Pune. The entire course fees need to be paid before the date of commencement of the programme at the centre. Course fees shall not be accepted in cash.
